Pediatric care with Dr. Norris
Alternative and natural treatment options for complex pediatric issues
What is Naturopathic Pediatrics?
Dr. Norris has two children. She understands how much thought, time, energy, and money you invest in giving your children a happy, healthy life.
And as if being a parent or guardian wasn’t challenging enough already, when you are faced with health concerns for your children you may not be offered solutions from your pediatrician that align with how you would like them to be treated.
Dr. Norris can help.
She can help you determine what the root cause of the health issue is, find natural solutions, and help get your child feeling their best. Since she has been a primary care doctor for kids and adults for 13 years she knows when conventional medicine (medications, surgeries, other therapies) that your pediatrician may have recommended are the right choice and when it may not be. Most pediatricians are great and well-intended with the treatments offered, but they are often rushing through appointments and not trained in the NATURAL and SAFE options that WORK for KIDS. We are not talking about essential oils here; we are talking about powerful natural treatment options that are safe and come from medicinal plants, amino acids, nutritional changes, supplements, and lifestyle changes. There is a plethora of evidence-based and scientifically-backed treatments available for your child, just like we have those for adults too. (No offense to essential oils, we love those too!)
You are the expert on your child(ren). Dr. Norris’ job is to help you see past all the social media chatter out there and determine what tests need to be done and then the most effective, least invasive treatment options available for your concerns.
The most common issues we see in our pediatric practice are:
- Skin conditions (eczema, acne, dermatitis)
- Gastrointestinal issues (acid reflux, diarrhea, constipation, colic, IBS, crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, etc.)
- Puberty and hormonal changes or concerns
- Autism support
- Respiratory concerns (asthma, allergies)
- Behavioral, cognitive & mood concerns (ADHD, depression, learning differences)
- Food sensitivity & elimination diets
- Solutions to stop the frequent colds and/or ear infections (immunity)
Labs run by Dr. Norris include food sensitivity panels (IgG food testing), stool and digestive analysis tests (ex/ leaky gut, SIBO, and gut dysbiosis), heavy metal screenings, and other conventional lab offerings such as checking for anemia, thyroid disorders, and checking Vitamin D levels, etc.
Although Dr. Norris was a primary care doctor for kids and adults for 13 years she no longer works in this capacity. Parents should also establish care for their children with a pediatrician since Dr. Norris no longer offers an after-hour phone line for sick calls, she doesn’t offer well-child or sports exams, and she no longer offers vaccines in her practice.
If you are walking out of your pediatrician’s office with unanswered questions, feeling rushed or unsupported, or you have a sense that there must be more testing or some other options for treatment…then Dr. Norris may be just the expert you have been seeking to be part of your child’s healthcare team.
